This special project was driven by the environmental sensitivity of the clients. They were appreciative of the very unique site – perched on the edge of the Darling scarp in the midst of pristine bushland, and wanted to maintain the character and beauty of their surrounds. At their request a garden consisting entirely of local plants was designed as understorey for the existing trees. Plants were grouped with some thought as to textures and shapes, but aiming for a naturalistic effect.
Zanthorrea Nursery supplied the plants and after some challenges with voracious kangaroos the garden is finally establishing well. The owners have since extended the planting and installed natural stone steps to access the steeper sections of the property.
